He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Atisha Marx, and a loving father to his daughters, Ashley (Bradley) Larson, Caitlyn Marx, and Madison Marx. His role as a grandfather to Matthew Larson was one he cherished deeply, and the bond he shared with his grandson was a source of immense joy. His bond with his family was unbreakable, and he took immense joy in supporting and celebrating each milestone with them. Jim’s family circle extended to his brother, Bill Marx, and sister-in-law, Lisa Marx; his nephews, Dillon (Mackenzie) Marx and Jeff (Kaytee) Marx; and his great-niece, Isabella Marx. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Marx; his mother, Sara Gale; and his younger brother, Tom Marx — all of whom he loved deeply and held close to his heart throughout his life.
Jim’s commitment to education led him to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business at Youngstown State University, a foundation that served him well throughout his career. His work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were evident in his tenure at Stambaugh’s, Lowe’s, and Progressive Insurance, and culminated in his successful ownership of Westgate Pizza Company. His professional life was marked by integrity, hard work, and a warm camaraderie with his colleagues and employees.
A man of deep Christian faith, Jim lived his life in service to his beliefs. He found solace and strength in learning about the life of Jesus and was a guiding force for his wife and daughters in all walks of life. His gentle spirit and selfless nature were reflections of his religious convictions. Jim’s interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. He was a constant presence at his children’s sporting and school events, proudly supporting them in every endeavor.
