Gladys Edna Miller

1932-2025

Gladys Edna Miller passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the age of 93, at home surrounded by her family.

Those who knew her know that she took a lot of pride in her family, loving her multiple roles of wife, mom, nana, and great nana. Gladys was a spunky lady who will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

Gladys Edna was born in Marion County, West Virginia on August 2, 1932, to George and Lucy McGill. She is survived by her children, George (Brenda), Jane (Tim), and David (Brenda), and her 12 grandchildren, Jessica (Tom), Brook (Daryl), Ashley (Tucker), Kodey (Eddie), Joel (Adam), Haeli (Chad), Brittany (Stephen), Carrie (Chase), Abby, Joshua, Erika (Christopher), and Jordan (Casey). She is also survived by her 23 great-grandchildren who she was blessed to enjoy over the past 15 years.

Her family brought her much joy. Gladys leaves her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with countless memories. She was always reading, cooking, or baking, and loved gardening, canning, shopping, or her luncheons with the ladies; amongst her grandchildren’s favorite memories are her making strawberry jam. She and her husband also enjoyed many domestic travels over the years, even assuming the reputation of Florida Snowbirds or Winter Texans, and square-danced.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Miller; their son, Stanley Michael; and her parents and siblings, Suda, Frank, and Jesse.

As a child, living a few miles from the schoolhouse, she often stayed with Gladys Sturm (her namesake) during the week and otherwise worked on the farm. After a whirlwind courtship, Gladys married William on December 20, 1952; and, for the next 70 years, supported her husband and children as they built the family business.
