1944-2025
SALEM — Ronald L. Weingart, 81, passed away peacefully Dec. 1, 2025, at the Hospice House.
Ron was born on Sept. 13, 1944, in Kissimmee, Fla., the son of Orville “Bill” and Elouise (Parrish) Weingart, and came to Ohio as an infant.
A graduate of West Branch High School, Ron began his career with Herron Trucking, before accepting a position with General Motors in Lordstown. A man with a steadfast and strong work ethic, Ron dedicated over four decades of service to GM, working with the tri-level autorack rail cars that transported new vehicles from factory to dealerships. Ron also owned and operated Blue Water Pools for over 20 years, installing inground pools.
Ron’s zeal for life was fueled by his love for anything with an engine. His hands were most at home tinkering with his 4×4 vehicles, tractors, motorcycles, and boats, each modification a testament to his belief that bigger and faster meant better. In his 20s, he reveled in the thrills of Quaker Drag Strip, while working there part-time. Ron also enjoyed flying his airplanes and vacationing through the years in Tarpon Springs, Fla., with his family.
Ron leaves to carry on his memory, his daughters, Rhonda (Mario Salvino) Weingart of Salem, and Victoria Lee Weingart of New Middletown; his former wife of 28 years and friend, Patricia Shea Weingart of Alliance; grandchildren, Jason (Savannah) Weingart of Austin, Texas, Tristan Apinis of Salem, and Victoria Lee Murzda of New Middletown; and great-grandchildren, Emerald Weingart, Andris Apinis, Zander Mercer, and Chase Miller.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his great-grandson, infant Alexander Davis.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home, 1014 E. State St., Salem, and again on Monday from 1 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A procession will follow to Highland Memorial Park for a 2 p.m. committal service in the chapel.
