Joel Turkovich

1950-2026

Joel Turkovich, 76, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 27, 2026 at his home in Hanoverton, Ohio.

Born Jan. 18, 1950, he was the son of the late John Turkovich Sr. and Mary (MacDonald) Turkovich of Carrollton, Ohio.

He is survived by daughters Chi (Tim) Turkovich-Green of Magnolia and Megan Gotshall of Carrollton, sisters Joan (Ron) Yeager and Judy (Dennis) Christy of Carrollton, brother John Turkovich Jr. of Brazoria, Texas, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and his dear friend Fran Kern.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son Skip, his brother Jean and a grandson.

Joel was an employee of Electric Furnace Co. of Salem and retired after 35 years.

Joel was very proud to have served his country in the Army, during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal services.
