Russell H. Miner
Russell H. Miner
SALEM — Russell H. Miner, the son of Homer H. Miner and Bertha (Callahan) Miner. Russell graduated from Salem High School in 1960. He married his sweetheart, Patricia (Shook) Miner, on Oct. 15, 1963, and settled in North Benton. They celebrated 57 years of marriage before Patty was called home in December 2020.
Russell was always working. If he wasn’t working one of his two jobs as a machinist at Crane Deming Pumps or a tool and die maker at Paragon Tool and Die, he was tinkering in his big garage.
Russell was a longtime member of many organizations. He was a loyal member of the West Branch Band Boosters and Twin State Auto Racing Club, where he held offices for many years. He also loved to play bingo and play his handheld solitaire game.
Russell loved vacationing with his family. His favorite places were Geneva-on-the-Lake at the cabin and camping at the Canfield Fair.
Surviving Russ is his daughter, Kimberly (Duane) Wilson of Alliance; sons David (Anita) of Colonial Beach, Virginia, and Douglas (Susan) of Beloit; and 24 grandchildren and great-grandchildren (and one on the way). He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patty, and daughter-in-law, Peggy Miner.
Per his request, cremation will take place. Friends and family may share their remembrances and online condolences @www.deanfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Dean’s Funeral Home, Sebring, Ohio.
