1941-2026

SALEM — Linda Kay Huffer passed away at the age of 84 on March 7, 2026 surrounded by the warmth of her loving family at her daughter’s residence.

Born on June 28, 1941, in New Matamoras, Ohio, to the late Frank and Ruthie (Moore) Crawford.

She graduated from Salem High School in 1959. Linda’s roots ran deep in her hometown, and she carried the spirit of her upbringing throughout her life.

Linda’s commitment to her faith was evident to all who knew her. A lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Salem, she embodied the teachings of her faith through her actions and words. As a dedicated Sunday School teacher, she touched the lives of countless children with her gentle guidance and wisdom in the nursery. Linda enjoyed God’s masterpieces by sitting on her deck and watching her flower gardens bloom.

Linda’s legacy is carried on by her beloved family, who were the center of her world. She is survived by her five children: Ruth Shasteen of New Waterford, Richard Shasteen of Lisbon, Rebecca (Jimmy) Pridemore of Salem, Ross (Teresa) Shasteen of Lisbon, and Patty (John) Phillips of Winona. Her love also lives on through her 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, C. Timothy Huffer; infant son, Daniel Timothy; her siblings, Ralph Myers, Patty Shaffer, and Alan Crawford; and two grandchildren, Andrew Shasteen and Marisa Pridmore

Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
