Richard L. Graybeal

1950-2026

SALEM — Richard L. Graybeal, 76, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Hospice House with his family by his side.

Rich was born on March 13, 1950, in Salem, Ohio, to the late Ernest W. and Gladys I. (Sprowl) Graybeal. He graduated from Salem High School in 1968.

Rich married Janice Nicholson on Sept. 5, 1970. They have shared 55 loving years together.

He spent majority of his working life as a truck driver, specifically, hauling cars. When Rich wasn’t on the road for work, he would carve out time to take a joy ride on his Harley. He loved the freedom that came with riding and traveling to new places. Rich was known for documenting all his travels and new experiences through picture taking. His family and friends will continue to cherish those pictures for years to come.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Janice; his two sons, Jeff (Darlene) Graybeal and Douglas (Samantha) Graybeal; a grandson, Ethan; a brother, Alan Graybeal; and a sister, Rita (Gary) Mint. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Graybeal.

There will be a time for friends and family to gather and share their memories of Rich from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1014 E. State St., Salem, OH 44460. He will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery.

Rich will always be remembered for his loyalty to his family. As a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
