Cheryl Rae Welch 80, of Salem, Ohio, passed away on June 22, 2026. Born on June 4, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of Raymond and Marie (Monsler) Akins.
Cheryl graduated from Kent State in 1967 earning a degree in Early Childhood Education, and went on to complete her Masters at Youngstown State. She retired after working 35 years as a kindergarten teacher at Rogers Elementary in the Beaver Local School District.
She married Robert Welch on July 6, 1968. They shared 43 years of marriage together until his passing in 2011. She enjoyed visiting her sons, time with her friends and family, many cats over the years, and travels to all 50 states. Cheryl is survived by her sons Charlie (Michelle), Robbie (Holly) and Allen.
