Myrna Lou (Miller) Mercer

1938-2026

SALEM — Myrna Lou (Miller) Mercer passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona. She was born on Tuesday, June 7, 1938, in Wellsville, Ohio, to the late Ralph J. and Margaret E. (Campbell) Miller.

Myrna attended Wellsville High School and she then embarked on a varied and fulfilling career. She retired from PCC Airfoils after a dedicated 34 years of service. Her career also included time at Homer Laughlin China Co. in West Virginia, and was she was the proud owner of Myrna’s Curl Harbor, a salon in Hillcrest, Ohio.

In 1978, Myrna married Ray “Moe” Mercer at Spring Valley Campgrounds, where their lifelong romance began. The couple enjoyed their retirement together as snowbirds, traveling between Berlin Lake, Ohio where they loved to enjoy their pontoon in the summers and Mesa, Arizona during the winters.

Myrna was a member of the Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church in Glasgow, Ohio, where many of her family have been laid to rest. She was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion, where she loved playing bingo. Her zest for life was evident in her hobbies which included camping, traveling, and dancing. Growing up in a family of musicians, playing the banjo, fiddle and honkytonk piano, she was known to call at square dances. She could host a lively party and bring joy and fun to many.

Myrna was preceded in death by Moe on Dec. 18, 2015; brother, Richard Miller; son-in-law, James Frasard, and stepdaughter, Phyllis Farrare.

She is survived by her daughters, Patti (Deem) (Art) Guerin of Louisville, Ohio and Margie (Deem) Frasard of Mesa, Arizona; grandsons, Cody Guerin and Kyle Frasard; sister, Becky Miller of East Liverpool, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Sue Board of Wellsville, Ohio, Martin (Jeanne) Malone of Lisbon, Ohio, Debbie (Butch) Haddox of East Liverpool, Ohio, Rick (Lisa) Miller of Wellsville, Ohio, Scott (Angela) Miller of East Liverpool, Ohio; sister-in-law, Gerry Sue Miller. Myrna also leaves behind loving stepchildren, Ann (Jeff) Fought of Edinburg, Ohio, Lynn (Rick) Finch of Salem, Ohio, Phil (Alora) Mercer of Hastings, Florida, and Ray ‘Allie’ (Valerie) Mercer of Medford, Oregon, and many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at noon on Aug. 22, 2026, at the North Georgetown Cemetery on Gilson Road, followed by her celebration of life at 1:30 to 6 p.m. at the American Legion, 395 W California Ave., Sebring, Ohio, 44672.
