Dr. Oscar E. Budde

1932-2026

Dr. Oscar E. Budde, 93, passed away peacefully July 29, 2026, in Orchard Park, N.Y. Born on Sept. 30, 1932, in Cordoba, Argentina, he lived a remarkable life dedicated to his family, career, and passions.

Dr. Budde was a distinguished professional who made significant contributions to the medical field. He served as Chief of Pathology at Salem Community Hospital and held the esteemed position of Health Commissioner for the Salem City Health Department. Dr. Budde served as an adjunct professor at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. His dedication to his work left an enduring impact on the communities he served.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Budde was a devoted family man. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Estela L. (Suin) Budde, and their daughter. He is survived by his two sons, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Dr. Budde found great pleasure in reading, music and art- pursuits that reflected his inquisitive mind and appreciation for beauty and culture. An avid reader throughout his life, he cherished moments spent immersed in books and surrounded by creativity.

The burial will take place on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery. There will not be a formal ceremony but all are welcome to pay respects. Donations in Dr. Budde's name can be made to the Salem City Health District at 230 N. Lincoln Ave. Suite 104, Salem, Ohio 44460.
