Kerry Lee Ramunno

Kerry Lee Ramunno (Kowalski), 75, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Aug. 4, 2026, at Ames Family Hospice House.

Kerry grew up in Worcester, Mass., with her loving parents, Joseph and Inez, and her cherished big sister, Patricia. She had a welcoming presence and grounded optimism that inspired countless friends and strangers throughout her life.

Kerry earned a B.S. from Geneva College in three years, then married Louis Ramunno weeks later. They raised their sons, Ross and Mark, in Salem, Ohio, and celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary earlier this summer.

Kerry earned her Master of Education from Kent State University and later served on the Kent State Advisory Board. As an educator in the Ohio public school system for 30 years, she had a profound impact on thousands of students.

Kerry was a voracious reader, lifelong learner, and avid gardener. More than anything, Kerry loved spending time and traveling with her beloved husband, children, six grandchildren, and extended family in Florida. Grammy was especially close to her grandchildren, hosting "Camp Ohio" each summer and moving to North Olmstead in 2017 to be part of their daily lives.

Kerry was proud to be accepted to the Cleveland Clinic's Body Donation Program in 2013. This gift will continue her teaching legacy through the advancement of medical science and research.

Kerry was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Inez Kowalski. She is survived by her husband, Louis; sons, Ross (Wendy) and Mark (Kelly) Ramunno; grandchildren, Megan, Joseph, Jonathan, Veronica, Santina, and Alessandra; sister, Patricia (Fred) Gregory; nieces, Kalee (Theron) Tock, and Laura (Tim) Fillbach; and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at St. Angela Merici in Fairview Park, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salem High School Scholarship Fund or the Salem Community Foundation.
