SALEM -- Anthony Gene Glista, known affectionately to many as "T-Bone," passed away on Sept. 5, 2026, at the age of 73, doing what he loved most, golfing at Flying B Golf Course.
Anthony was born on Dec. 31, 1952, in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late John Frank and Margaret (Jankowski) Glista. He grew up in Salem and carried throughout his life the values of loyalty, responsibility, and kindness that were rooted in his upbringing. A 1971 graduate of West Branch High School, Anthony entered adulthood with a strong work ethic and a steady commitment to the people and places that shaped him.
For 40 years, Tony was an owner and operator of his family business, Country Saw and Knife in Salem. Through his dedication and perseverance, he built a career that reflected not only his skill and determination, but also his pride in serving others. He cherished going to work each day and especially valued the time spent seeing his family and his three boys. His business was more than a livelihood to him, as it was a place where his character, dependability, and love for family were evident to everyone around him.
When he was not working, Tony enjoyed golfing both locally and on golf trips with his son Anthony, and he found great happiness in the time spent on the course. Golf was one of his favorite pastimes, and he embraced it with enthusiasm and a competitive spirit. He also enjoyed visiting BB Rooners, where he was loved by many people there. He liked playing Keno and became known for being especially good at it, whether by skill or by luck. These moments of leisure brought him joy, and they reflected the easygoing, social side of his personality that friends and family will remember fondly.
Anthony is survived by his sons, Matthew (Autumn) Ketchem of Salem, Anthony James Glista of Salem, and Adam (Rhonie Burnette) Glista of Salem. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Charity Glista and Charlette Glista, who brought him great pride and happiness. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Michael (Gale) Glista of Salem, Daniel (Barb) Glista of Salem, and Stanley Glista of Beloit. His family was an important part of his life, and the bonds he shared with them will be treasured always.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his siblings, Ann Marie Glista Saunders, John Glista, and Theresa Odey.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Stark Memorial. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
