SALEM -- Janet Faye Warner, 95, passed away on Sept. 10, 2026, at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on Nov. 15, 1930, in Salem, Ohio, Janet was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (McClay) Youtz. She graduated from Salem High School with the Class of 1948 and carried the values of hard work and kindness throughout her life. On Oct. 8, 1950, she married Robert H. Warner, and together they shared 56 years of marriage until his passing on March 6, 2007. Their union was blessed with a loving family and a lifetime of memories built on faith, commitment, and mutual care.
Janet devoted many years of service to the working world as an executive secretary for the Deming Company and later for the Joseph Celin Insurance Agency. She concluded her career with retirement from Miller-Holzworth. In every role she held, she was known for her dependability, professionalism, and gracious manner. Yet her greatest calling was as a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, roles she embraced with pride and heartfelt love.
As she raised her sons, Janet was active with the Salem Band Boosters and served as a Den Leader for the Cub Scouts and a Merit Badge Counselor & Troop Auxiliary member for the Boy Scouts. She took great joy in supporting her children and was especially proud that all three of her sons earned the Eagle Scout Badge. Her encouragement, patience, and steadfast presence helped shape the lives of those she loved, and her family will long remember the example she set through her care and dedication.
Janet was also a talented homemaker with many gifts. She enjoyed sewing and often made handmade clothing for herself and others. She created beautiful afghans through her crocheting and had a special way of making holidays memorable through her delicious cooking and baking. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, and her skillful hands and thoughtful heart brought comfort and joy to many over the years.
A woman of faith, Janet was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Salem. She served as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, sang in the choir, assisted with church lunches and dinners, and was a member of the church's Altar Guild. Janet's life was a beautiful example of faithfulness, humility, and love. She will be fondly remembered for her generosity and willingness to help anyone in need.
Janet leaves to carry on her memory, her sons, Daniel Warner of Canal Fulton and Gregg Warner of Salem; grandson, Given Warner of Elyria; and foster sister, Arwilda Koller of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her son, Gary Warner; siblings, infant Charles Calvin Youtz, Wilbur "Bud" Youtz, and Donna Walzer.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1089 E. State St., Salem, with Pastor Jeff Goggins officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home, 1014 E. State St., Salem, and again on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Janet's name to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or to Salem High School Alumni Association, 330 E. State St, Salem, OH 44460.
