SALEM -- Richard L. Ziegler, 77, died Aug. 30, 2026, at his home.
Richard was born on June 16, 1949 in Salem, Ohio, the son of Dr. LaVerne and Ruth A. (Siebert) Ziegler.
A lifelong resident of Salem, Richard was a gradaute of Salem High School and attended Kent State University. He was a tool & die maker by trade. Richard was also a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served in Europe during the Vietnam era, answering his country's call with honor and commitment.
Richard was a simple man who found joy in riding his motorcycle and appreciated the freedom, peace, and sense of adventure that came with being on the open road.
Survivors include his nephews, Stephan (Bonnie) Davis of Alabama and Scott (Shirley) Davis of New York; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Ramsay.
A celebration of life and time of fellowship will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at The OG Restaurant & Lounge, 146 S. Broadway Ave., Salem, Ohio 44460. Burial took place at Grandview Cemetery in Salem.
