Appreciate merchants donating to worthwhile causes
To the editor:
This community should be very proud of the merchants who are often asked to donate to worthwhile causes. This support is very important to the sponsors and recipients — both grateful for the help.
When the Salem First United Methodist Church recently held a benefit for the restoration of the 110-year-old pipe organ, the businesses contacted generously donated. Hopefully, the project will be done by Easter and we hope the community has the opportunity to enjoy the music of this beautiful instrument.
The contributions of local merchants were a big factor in the success of the benefit Swiss steak dinner and silent auction.
For this and other endeavors, the community should support our businesses. Those merchants who donated : Advanced Auto, Annabell’s, Auto Zone, BB Rooners, Boneshakers, Busy Beaver, Chappell’s Framing, Coaches, DeRienzo’s, Donnell Ford, Dunkin’ Donuts, Ezio’s, Home Depot, Tim Hortons, Jalisco, Lutz Greenhouse and Gifts, Mike’s Penn Grill, McDonald’s, Papa John’s, Peebles, Pizza Hut, Rancho Viejo, Ricky’s English Pub, Salem Tire, Salem Hills Golf, Spread Eagle Tavern, Winona Frozen Foods and Wedgewood Pizza.
Thank you to everyone who helped.
