A day of joy for St. Paul parishioners
To the editor:
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
That day was celebrated at St. Paul Catholic Church on Sunday afternoon, June 18, at a mass of thanksgiving. To give glory and praise to God. For on this day one of our own celebrated his first mass as a priest: Frederick Schlueter.
Father Frederick Schlueter was ordained a priest on June 17 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown by Bishop Bonnar.
We praise God for all St. Paul’s parishioners who worked so hard to make this event amazing. The orchestra and all the music was beautiful for the ear of God. The reception afterwards brought us together in fellowship. Many blessings and thanks to our priest, Monsignor Polando, and all the priests who attended. We would also like to thank Father Fritz’s sister Ellie who is a nun and the other nuns who attended.
It was truly a blessed day that brought tears of joy to our eyes. We thank you, Jesus, that when you called Father Fritz into your priesthood, his answer was fiat. Our prayers are with this young priest wherever God sends him.
