To the editor:

Liberals like to point out how smart and virtuous they are. They put signs in their yards signaling their virtue. Take a letter to the editor in the June 28 edition for instance. The writer said she voted for Biden and boasted that she would for him again.

Let’s start with how virtually all new jobs are simply the recovery of jobs lost during the pandemic. Our deficit is higher than it has ever been in our history. Prices are surging more than in 30 years and wages can’t possibly compete with inflation. Gas was less than $2 not that long ago. We were energy independent.

We are in a proxy war with Russia bringing us closer to nuclear annihilation than ever before. Nuclear annihilation. Explain why we keep poking a bear with nuclear capacity equal if not greater than ours. Is it because there are people, present administration included, who continue to beat the war drum to line their own pockets?

And, lastly, Biden’s border policy is and continues to be a complete disaster. Not only are people, young people, dying by the thousands from the drugs crossing the border but babies and children are being trafficked and no one cares.

We used to need each other. Conservatives needed liberals to temper our bootstrap mentality. Liberals needed us to reign in their well intended but injudicious ideology. Not anymore. America is in the middle of an ugly divorce. And who will be the biggest losers? As always, the children.
