Urges support for Salem Schools Levy

To the editor:

I would like to invite everyone who will be casting a vote in the upcoming election to attend the Salem City Schools Levy Committee Informational Forum that will be held on Tuesday evening, October 24, 2023, at SHS auditorium beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Salem City Schools Superintendent Sean Kirkland and Salem City Schools Treasurer Michael Douglas will present the facts about the upcoming school levy issue that will appear on the November 7, 2023, ballot. A representative from the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) will be present to deliver information. A panel of citizens will give facts and opinions, as well. There will be a question-and-answer period before the conclusion of the program. Former Buckeye School Principal, Dennis Niederhiser will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event.

Many people have misconceptions about the levy. Unfortunately, they have heard false data about the ballot issue. Please consider attending this informative program and hear the facts relayed to you by the experts. I strongly believe that everyone has a right to their opinions, but I also believe that informed decisions should be made after hearing this pertinent information.

Most of my working career has been dedicated to the betterment of this town I love so much. It is my opinion that the school levy is one of the most important ways we can show support for our community’s children and for the economic success of our town’s future. I hope you will make every effort to attend, as there is no better place to be than the SHS auditorium on that Tuesday evening. I hope to see you there.

Most sincerely yours,

Audrey Cleveland Null,
