We must not let it happen again
To the editor:
When I was in my senior year of high school in 1964, the whole school was shown film of the horrible things done to Jewish people in Hitler’s regime.
Men and women so skinny you couldn’t tell their gender, headed off of train cars, naked, marched into trenches and shot down. Children were experimented on by Nazis — things done to torture them.
Here I am 60 years later and I can’t get those pictures out of my head. It’s hard to believe there are people in our country who don’t know about the Holocaust. There is proof on film of what happened. I saw it.
That film should be shown in all our schools and colleges. Don’t let our people forget all the awful, horrible, sickening things done back then. Just like we don’t want to forget 9-11-2001. We cannot allow our young people to live without knowing the truth of the Holocaust. Show them the truth of the inhumane things done back then. We must not forget. We must not let if happen again.
