Aktion Club of Columbiana County expresses gratitude
To the editor:
The Aktion Club of Columbiana County, a group for adults with developmental disabilities supported by Salem Kiwanis, extends its heartfelt gratitude for the generous donations made to the Columbiana County Humane Society and the Columbiana County Dog Pound.
We collected from Oct.15- to Dec. 17 and were truly touched by the outpouring of support, which included over 300 pounds of pet food, blankets, towels, handmade pet beds, leashes, collars, toys, laundry detergent, and essential cleaning supplies.
We sorted, divided and delivered these on Dec. 19. Your donations filled furry bellies and helped keep these animals warm during some of the coldest weather we’ve had so far this year. The Humane Society and the Dog Pound both expressed deep appreciation for your donations. They will help to care for the many animals awaiting adoptions. We encourage you to continue supporting these vital organizations, as your contributions make a significant difference.
We would also like to thank the following businesses and organizations for going above and beyond to help us in this project: Salem Kiwanis, Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Lib’s Market, and Print Works, who served as drop-off sites for the community-at-large; Employment Development, Inc. and Sunrise Homes of Lisbon, who served as drop-off sites for employees and clients and their families; True North and Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation who provided in-house/staff donations; and Giant Eagle of Salem that provided us with a generous gift card donation.
Thank you all once again for your kindness!
