POLAND -- Poland captured its fourth straight Northeast 8 championship with a convincing 49-29 win over South Range on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs improve to 16-2 overall and 12-1 in league play.
The Raiders (12-7) trailed 31-9 at halftime and were limited to 15 points through three quarters.
Connie Cougras paced the Bulldogs with a game-high 14 points. Katie McDonald added 11.
Hannah Heikkinen and Emma Cunningham each scored seven points for the Raiders, who played without leading scorer Lexi Giles.
South Range won the junior varsity game.

EAST PALESTINE -- East Palestine's girls basketball team won its first game of the season by topping Heartland Christian 57-26 on Wednesday.
East Palestine is supposed to play at Lisbon today.

West Branch 67, Boardman 29
BELOIT -- West Branch dominated Boardman 67-29 on Wednesday in girls basketball action.
West Branch is 16-4 and is at Minerva on Saturday.

Sebring 23
LOWELLVILLE -- Lowellville upended Sebring 67-23 on Wednesday in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Scarlet Division play.
Sebring fell to 2-13 and 0-9.
Lowellville is 6-10 and 4-8.
The Trojans will host Waterloo on Saturday.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Newton Falls 59, Heartland 49
COLUMBIANA -- Newton Falls had three players score in double figures as it beat Heartland 59-49 on Wednesday.
For Heartland (13-4), Jonathan Bertovich had 14 points, while Luke Reynolds added 11 points. Nate Garzanich chipped in 10 points.
Newton Falls won the jayvee game, 55-40.
Heartland is at Mineral Ridge on Saturday.
