COLUMBIANA — East Liverpool’s boys track team sped away with the Clipper Invitational title in record fashion on Saturday at Columbiana High School.

The Potters’ 3200 relay team of Brody Vulgamore, Zayvier Wynn, Maddox Roach and Julius Jones set a meet and stadium record in 8:18.9. The 1600 relay team of Gavin Wright, Roach, Quintin Conrad and Jones also set the meet and stadium record in 3:32.

Jones also set a meet and stadium record by winning the 800 run in 1:58.8.

Roach also took first in the 1600 in 4:38.9 and Quintin Conrad grabbed first in the 400 (51.5). Gavin Wright was a 300 hurdles winner in 43.1.

United’s boys 800 relay team of Kollyn Wells, Braden Schwartz, Danny Milburn, Cayden Pitts tied the meet and stadium record in 1:33.2.

Akron Garfield’s Markeise Smith won the boys high-point award with 38 points. He was also the best field event performer with 20 points.

East Liverpool’s girls team also won the team title. The Potters were led by the 800 relay team of Makiyah Allgood, Ella Ludwig, LaNese Andrews and Dacianelle Andrews who tied the meet and stadium record in 1:51.9.

Individual event winners for the Potters included Kailynn Kirby in the high jump (4-8), Dacianelle Andrews in the long jump (15-4.5), LaNese Andrews in the 400 (1:03.7) and Makiyan Allgood in the 100 hurdles (16.7).

The Potter 400 relay team of Allgood, Ella Ludwig, Dobbins and Andrews won in 52.9. The Potter 1600 relay team of LaNese Andrews, Ludwig, Presley Jones and Dobbins won in 4:34.1.

Crestview’s Adri Hodge was the girls’ high-point award winner as she registered 29 points.
