Kutsko’s play leads Quakers

GIRARD — Aubrey Kutsko collected three hits and made a key defensive play in the seventh inning to highlight Salem’s 8-5 win over Girard on Monday.

It was the Quakers’ fourth straight win.

Morgane Blaine had two hits and drove in two runs. Channing Toy tripled and singled and scored two runs and Hadley Carlisle doubled and singled and scored two runs.

Emilee Lewis went the distance for the victory, giving up four earned runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and 10 walks.

Salem (5-5) will play at Carrollton today.

West Branch 13, Columbiana 3

BELOIT — Sara Schmidt and Ellie Tucker each went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and West Branch scored in every inning for a 13-3 win over Columbiana in five innings Monday.

Schmidt doubled twice and tripled and scored three runs.

Klary McKay and Addi Craven added doubles.

McKay was the winning pitcher, giving up three earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts in five innings.

Caitlynn Pleska hit a home run and had two RBIs to top the Clippers. Ella Dota and Cameron Perkins each had a double and scored a run.

Addison Brode took the loss, giving up nine earned runs on 12 hits with two strikeouts and two walks in four innings.

Columbiana will play at East Palestine today.

United sweeps Lisbon

LISBON — Chloe Angelo homered in both games and Jillian Dietrich and Peyton Kekel gave up five combined hits in a 12-3, 16-3 sweep of Lisbon on Monday.

Angelo got things started with a home run in the first inning and the Golden Eagles kept it going .

Angelo went 3-for-3 in the first game with a home run, a double, three RBIs and three runs scored. Callie Coons, Grace Coffee, Brittany Miller and Kekel all doubled and singled. Miller had three RBIs.

Dietrich scattering two hits and one earned run over five innings. She struck out seven and walked two.

Emlia Cook doubled and drove in a run for the Blue Devils. Kamryn Peruchetti took the loss, giving up six earned runs on 11 hits with three strikeouts and two walks in four innings.

In the second game, Cooks had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Miller doubled twice and scored two runs. Grace Coffee and Miley Pitts each had a double, a single and two runs. Angelo scored three runs and drove in two. Josie Wargo, Kendall Erb, Allyson Lacey and Kekel added doubles.

Kekel gave up one earned run on three hits with six strikeouts and two walks in five innings.

Marah Householder doubled and singled for the Blue Devils. Abby Ammon added a double.

Lexi Roush took the loss for the Blue Devils, giving up six runs, four earned, on four hits in one-third of an inning.

United will host Heartland Christian today.

COLUMBIANA — Brrenna Figley had three hits, including a double, and scored three runs as Crestview topped Ravenna Southeast, 9-5, Monday.

Makayla McKee also had three hits and Kerrigan Miller had two hits and two runs.

Emma Snyder pitched four innings, giving up four earned runs on nine hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Makayla McKee gave up one earned run on one hit over three innings with two strikeouts and two walks.
