Clipper girls still unbeaten
YOUNGSTOWN — The Columbiana girls golf team improved to 9-0 by rolling over Youngstown Ursuline, 177-212, Wednesday at Stambaugh Golf Course.
The Clippers posted the top four scores with Alyssa Kakavros and Maddie Jackson shooting 41s, Nia Missos 46 and Hannah Moffett 49.
For Ursuline, Maria Wilson had a 50, Sophia Scianni 52, Clara Miller 54 and Arianna Schiavone 56.
Columbiana will play at Pymatuning Valley on Aug. 28.
Minerva perfect
MINERVA — The Minerva girls golf team remained unbeaten by topping John Glenn and Claymont on Wednesday.
Minerva shot a 174 at Great Trail, followed by John Glenn 195 and Claymont 254.
Peyton Beamariage topped Minerva with a 40, followed by Emery Sell and Delaney Sell with 44s and Hannah Kirkpatrick 46.
Minerva improves to 11-0 overall and 5-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.
The Lions will take on West Branch at Westville Lake today.
Wellsville 212, Leetonia 226
GLENMOOR — The Wellsville boys golf team downed Leetonia, 212-226, Wednesday at Historic Highlands.
Darnell Roe took top honors with a 44 for the Tigers. Gage Vance added a 54 and Cooper Frank and Nate Cline had 57s.
For Leetonia, Christian Kelly and Chase Bondi shot 51s, Gray Henderson 55 and Emily West 69.
Leetonia plays United at 10 a.m. Friday at Edgewater near Minerva.
Wellsville will host Toronto and Weirton Madonna on Tuesday.
