Rebels spike Potters; extend win streak

EAST LIVERPOOL — The Crestview Rebels opened their volleyball season like most before.

The Rebels won their 47th straight regular-season match Wednesday by rallying past East Liverpool, 17-25, 25-12, 25-20, 25-19, at the Potter Fieldhouse.

Lainy Auer led the Rebel attack with 33 kills, four aces and 19 digs. Sophia Noling had eight kills and Sophia Stewart five kills and 46 assists. Kerrigan Miller contributed two aces and 23 digs and Addison Wendell had 15 digs.

Ava Green had 20 kills and two blocks and Presley Jones 14 kills and one ace for the Potters. Kamryn Yanni collected 37 assist and set the school record for career assists.

Kendall Martin contributed five kills, Addie Jones four kills and one block, Hailey Board two kills and one block and Ayla Riggle four assists and 22 digs.

East Liverpool won the junior varsity match, 25-23, 25-21, as Koli Spencer had five kills. Ella Gunning and Peyton Tanner each had seven assists with Gunning serving an ace.

For the Rebels, Madeline English had five kills, three aces and four digs and Cassie McCusker eight digs.

In freshman action, Crestview won 25-8, 25-19. Makenna Ray led the Rebels with seven aces, three kills and 10 assists. Jewlnetta Bradley also had three kills.

Aubrey Quarterman and Brilynn Jones each had three aces for the Potters.

Crestview will host Newton Falls today.

East Liverpool plays at Harrison Central on Monday.

Heartland Christian 3, Toronto 1

COLUMBIANA — Heartland Christian rallied past Toronto, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-23, Wenesday.

Claire Liposky totaled 16 kills and 14 digs for the winners. Maddie Neville had four aces, 12 kills and 13 digs; Keagan Pruitt 11 kills and 10 digs; Emily McDowell 24 digs and 14 assists; and Makenna Wilson 21 assists and six digs.

The Lions improve to 2-1.

East Palestine 3, Leetonia 0

EAST PALESTINE — East Palestine is off to a perfect start.

The Bulldogs bounced Leetonia, 25-16, 25-4, 25-4, Wednesday for its third straight 3-0 sweep of the season.

East Palestine improves to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

Amara Wilson topped the Bulldogs with 16 points, eight aces, nine kills and six digs. Cami Kridler totaled 12 assists, eight points, six aces and six digs; Destiney Burtyk nine kills, eight points and three digs; Kennedy Andre six assists, five points and two aces; and Alyssa Dilling had five digs.

For Leetonia, Kasey Williams had three points with an ace.

East Palestine also won the junior varsity match, 25-14, 25-4, as Violet Glavan had 16 points and 11 aces. Aliviana Valingo added six points, four aces and four kills and Miranda Perkins six points and four aces.

East Palestine will play at Southern on Tuesday.
