Salem beats up on Alliance in Eastern Buckeye play
ALLIANCE — Salem scored a sweep of Alliance 25-15, 25-16, 25-13 on Tuesday.
For the Quakers, Abby Knickerbocker had four aces, 16 kills and three blocks. Reagan Helmick had three aces, three kills and a block. Macey Troy had two kills and 20 assists.
Salem is 1-3 and 1-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.
Salem is at Minerva on Thursday.
Crestview 3, Southeast 0
RAVENNA –Crestview’s volleyball team bounced Southeast 25-15, 25-8, 25-11 on Tuesday.
Crestview is 4-0 and 3-0 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Grey Division.
Lainy Auer had 18 kills, four aces and nine digs for the winners. Sophia Stewart had 25 assists and three kills. Sophia Dattilio had four kills and two blocks. Valerie Boyd had 10 aces and 10 digs.
Crestview won the jayvee portion, 25-7, 25-21. Lainey Milhoan had five kills and two aces for the Rebels. Hailey Boano had 10 digs.
In the freshman match, Crestview won 25-11, 25-17. Makenna Ray had nine kills and four assists. Addison Finch had nine aces, four kills and 12 assists.
Crestview is at Cardinal Mooney today.
Columbiana 3, Valley 0
COLUMBIANA — Columbiana’s volleyball team grabbed a 25-9, 25-12, 25-11 win over Valley in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.
For the Clippers (5-0 and 4-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference), Landry Smith had 10 kills and six points. Addisyn Dangler had eight kills, four aces and 12 points, while Evy Rapp had five kills, five aces and eight points. Eva Waller had 12 assists and three points. Ella Eisenbraun had four aces. Jaslin Kaur had four aces and four points.
Columbiana’s jayvees were a 25-11, 25-5 winner. Eisenbraun had 28 points, 13 aces and nine assists. Harper Cuff had four kills, while Ava Marks had five kills and nine aces.
Columbiana hosts United on Thursday.
Campbell 3, Heartland 2
COLUMBIANA — Campbell Memorial improved to 5-0 with a 25-13, 20-25, 19-25, 25-14, 15-8 win over Heartland Christian on Tuesday.
For Heartland, Maddie Neville had 21 digs, 10 kills and three aces. Keagan Pruitt had 15 kills, an ace and 17 digs. Makenna Wilson had 15 assists and 15 digs. Claire Liposky had 20 digs, eight kills and three blocks. Capri Drokin had seven blocks and three kills.
Heartland is 4-3 and will be at Toronto on Thursday.
United 3, Wellsville 1
WELLSVILLE — Wellsville jumped out to an early advantage but United came back to beat the Tigers 22-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-9 on Tuesday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.
United is 5-2 and 3-0 in the EOAC. The Eagles will travel to Columbiana on Thursday with first place on the line.
Maelee Smith totaled 12 kills for the Eagles. Rileah Phillips collected four aces and 16 assists and Chloe Angelo five kills and three blocks.
Wellsville is 0-3 and 0-3 in the EOAC.
The Tigers are at East Palestine on Thursday.
Lisbon 3, Leetonia 0
LEETONIA — Lisbon had no trouble with Leetonia in a 25-5, 25-15, 25-3 win on Tuesday.
Devil sophomore Addison Anderson set the school record for points in a match with 48. It was previously held by Abby Ammon. She also set the assist record with 18. Maddie Marshelak added 13 kills. Stefanee Stacey had 24 assists and seven kills. Alayna Householder and Hannah Davis had five digs each.
Lisbon is 2-1 and 2-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. Leetonia is 0-3 and 0-3 in the league.
Lisbon hosts Malvern today. Leetonia is at Valley on Thursday.
Lisbon won the jayvee match, 25-17, 25-8. Sydney Tremnel had five kills. Gracyn Owens added seven assists.
East Palestine 3, Southern 1
SALINEVILLE — East Palestine captured its fourth straight win by downing Southern, 25-19, 26-24, 19-25, 25-21, in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play Tuesday.
The Bulldogs — who lost their first set of the season — improves to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the EOAC.
Marley Blythe totaled 11 points, eight kills and 23 digs for the Bulldogs. Amara Wilson had 12 kills, 21 digs and nine points; Destiney Burtyk nine kills, six blocks and seven digs; Cami Kridler 14 digs and 15 assists; and Alyssa Dilling 19 digs, six points and three aces
For the Indians (1-4), Haylee Kellogg had 10 points, 20 assists and four kills; Katie Kellog seven points and 22 kills; Allyssa Shroades 28 assists and six kills; Kiah Sloan six kills and four blocks; Natalia Lopez five kills and two blocks: Cheyenne Buzzard five kills and two blocks; Brooke Boyle seven points and 10 digs; and Breena Frischkorn four points with three aces.
Southern won the junior varsity match, 18-25, 25-16, 25-22.
Leaders for the Indians were Delaney Beadnell with 11 points, Mary Beadnell 10 points and Emerson Gotschall eight kills.
For the Bulldogs, Cadence Vargo had 12 points, five aces and three kills, Jacklyn Ogle seven kills and Violet Glavan five kills.
Both teams play Thursday with East Palestine hosting Wellsville and Southern visiting Lisbon.
