CORTLAND — The Salem boys and girls swept the team titles and Heartland Christian senior Rebecca Geiss won another girls race at the Oscar Grant Maplewood Cross Country Invitational on Thursday.

Geiss topped the 180-runner girls field in 18 minutes, 6.2 seconds on the fast 3.1-mile course at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds. McDonald sophomore Naomi Sheesley finished two seconds back.

The Salem girls had a balanced team effort with 70 points, followed by McDonald with 84.

The Quakers had five runners under 20:40 as Chaya Murray finished 11th, Emily Sinsley 14th, Laura Hovorka 17th, Addison Hopple 23rd and Cassidy Wallace 24th.

The Salem boys also won, featuring three runners under 17 minutes to top the 17-team field with 57 points.

Luke Stephens led the Quakers as he was fourth overall (16:12.6). Sam Yakubek was 10th and Colton Hall was 11th.
