Rebels take 67th straight at home
COLUMBIANA — Crestview’s volleyball team passed one of its hardest tests this season as it swept an upstart McDonald team 25-22, 25-23, 25-19 on Wednesday.
The Rebels, ranked fourth in Div. V in the state coaches’ poll, are 13-0 on the season and have won 67 straight at home. McDonald, ranked 15th in Div. VI, fell to 9-3.
Lainy Auer had 24 kills, two blocks, two aces and 17 digs for the Rebels, while Sophia Stewart had 27 assists, three kills, a block and eight digs. Sophia Dattilio had three kills and four blocks. Val Boyd added three aces and eight digs..
In the reserve match, Crestview won 25-13, 26-24. Addison Finch had 14 assists and two aces for the winners. Haley Boano had nine digs and Lainey Milhoan had seven kills and three aces.
Crestview hosts Southeast today.
Lisbon 3, Heartland 2
LISBON — Lisbon’s varsity volleyball team outlasted Heartland 25-27, 20-25, 25-20, 28-26, 16-14 on Wednesday.
For Lisbon (6-7), Stefanee Stacey led with 29 assists, Maddie Marshalek had 10 kills, Addison Anderson eight, and Alayna Householder six kills and six digs. Abby Ammon had 13 digs, Hannah Davis 15, and Gionna Lenigar anchored the net with three solo blocks and two assists. Kylyn Boyd contributed strong passing throughout.
Heartland fell to 9-6. The Lions host Steubenville Central today.
Heartland won the jayvee match, 25-12, 25-16.
For Lisbon, Lilian Tenzek filled in as libero with seven digs, six perfect passes, and two aces. Gracyn Owens recorded 12 assists, Delaney Pickens had three kills, and Emmy Haynes added two.
Lisbon hosts Leetonia today.
United 3, Southern 0
HANOVERTON — United was a 25-21, 25-21, 25-20 winner over Southern on Tuesday.
Maelee Smith had 12 kills for the Eagles, while Baylee Smith had 22 digs. Chloe Angelo and Rileah Phillips have five kills each.
United won the jayvee match, 25-17, 25-14. Brennan Ritchie had four kills and two blocks. Scarlett Courtney added 10 points and three aces.

Salem 4, Carrollton 0
SALEM — Salem’s girls soccer team celebrated senior night with seniors scoring all the goals in a 4-0 win over Carrollton on Wednesday at Sebo Stadium.
Karlie Sampson had two goals, while Maddy Andres and Gabby Coletta also scored. Andres also had an assist. Paige Menough had five saves in goal.
Salem is 8-2-2 and 2-0-1 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. Salem is at Springfield on Monday.

HANOVERTON — United’s girls soccer team beat East Liverpool 9-0 on Tuesday.
For the Eagles, Elli Powers, Natalie Shipley and Kylie Holmes had two goals each, while Kiley Hetherington, Maddie Figley and Anna Weber each had a goal.
Figley and Hetherington had two assists each. Powers, Bella Thompson and Addy Hofmesiter had an assist each.
United 6, Columbiana 0
HANOVERTON — United Local’s boys soccer team blanked Columbiana 6-0 on Wednesday.
Leading the Eagle attack were Josh Hawkins with two goals and two assists and Dylan Williams with two goals. Also contributing for United were Jude Andrea with a goal and an assist, Cayden Pitts with a goal and an assist and Zach Blake with two assists.
United improves to 4-5 while Columbiana drops to 3-5.
United plays Ursuline on Saturday at Youngstown State.
West Branch 2, Alliance 0
ALLIANCE — West Branch girls soccer team shutout Alliance 2-0 on Wednesday.
Ellie Tucker and Sammi Beatty scored for the Warriors. Elli Colian and Cambrie Nezbeth added assists. Audrey Eaton had six saves.
West Branch is 9-0-1 and 3-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.
West Branch hosts Avonworth on Monday.
Waterloo 5, Crestview 0
COLUMBIANA — Waterloo’s girls soccer team beat Crestview 5-0 on Wednesday.
Crestview is 1-6-3 and hosts Springfield today.
