LaBrae grad plays for Yale
YOUNGSTOWN — Former LaBrae High School Aidan Stephens is coming home for the weekend.
Stephens is a starting wide receiver for the Yale football team, which will be playing in the FCS playoffs at Youngstown State on Saturday.
He has 10 catches for 59 yards in nine games this season for the Bulldogs,who are 8-2 and shared the Ivy League title with Harvard.
Stephens was an All-Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference selection in high school. During his senior season in 2021, LaBrae won at Crestview, 34-13, on the way to an 11-2 record.
Saturday’s game will kick off at noon at Stambaugh Stadium. Tickets are $20.
Lisbon tips off today
LISBON — Lisbon’s ninth annual Tip-Off Tournament will be held today and Saturday at Lisbon High School.
Today’s boys basketball schedule at Nace Gymnasium includes Heartland Christian vs. Mogadore varsity at 2 p.m., Lisbon vs. Heartland Christian jayvees at 3:30 p.m. and Lisbon vs. Youngstown Academy for Urban Scholars varsity at 5:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the consolation game will be at 6 p.m., followed by the championship game at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students. All tickets are at the door with cash only.
