Salem exits playoffs
CLEVELAND — Salem didn’t have the weapons to keep up with No. 2 seed Glenville on Friday in a Div. IV second round game at Collinwood Athletic Complex.
The 10th seeded Quakers (7-5) fell 49-0 in a game which was 36-0 at the half.
The Tarblooders (8-3) advance to host Mentor Lake Catholic in a third round game next Friday.
C.J. Newell had a 43-yard run on the first play from scrimmage for Glenville. He added a 5-yard touchdown with 4:54 left in the first quarter.
A Rommell Phillips 26-yard touchdown reception from Arvell Nelson made the score 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.
