Clippers score strong EOAC victory

LEETONIA — Columbiana’s boys basketball team wrapped up a 79-36 win over Leetonia on Friday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.
For the Clippers, Senator Johnson led the way with 15 points and six rebounds. Trey Snyder added 11 points wtih 10 rebounds and Liam McElwain had 10 points. Hunter Davanzo had eight points, seven rebounds and four steals.
Columbiana is 4-0 and 2-0 in the EOAC, while Leetonia fell to 1-4 and 0-2.
Ethan Mathia and Dylan Johns had 12 points each for the Bears.
Columbiana won the jayvee game, 31-13. Zander Oliver had 13 points for Columbiana, while Aiden Hunter had nine points for the Bears.
Columbiana is scheduled to host South Range today.
Leetonia is at Southern on Tuesday.

Lisbon 64, Wellsville 53
WELLSVILLE — Lisbon sidestepped Wellsville for a 64-53 win on Friday in an Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference matchup.
Lisbon is 4-1 and 2-0 in the EOAC.
AJ Ramgeet sparked the winners with 26 points and six assists. Blaine Barnes added 21 points and three assists. Logan Sturgeon chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds. Aiden Myers had 12 rebounds.
Austin Adkins had a career high 29 points for the Tigers, 1-4 and 1-1 in the EOAC.
Clayten Kersey added 13 points and nine rebounds. Jeron Jackson had nine assists and Andrew Mackey had 10 rebounds.
Wellsville won the jayvee portion, 43-34. Eric Dowling had 14 points for the Tigers. Mason Jones had eight points for Lisbon. Wellsville is at Valley on Tuesday. Lisbon is at United on Tuesday.

BELOIT –Five West Branch players scored at least eight points as the Warriors doubled up Marlington, 54-26, Friday in Eastern Buckeye Conference play.
The Warriors improve to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the EBC, tied with Alliance for first place.
Jeremiah Thomas topped West Branchw ith a game-high 11 points, five assists and three steals.
Kasen Weaver contributed nine points and five steals and Chase had nine points. Grady Hirst had eight points and five rebounds and Gavin Gregory eight points and four rebounds. Landon Coffee grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
The Warriors used a 15-3 run in the second quarter to pull away.
West Branch also won the junior varsity game, 38-31, as Michael McCartney scored 17 points.
West Branch will play at Boardman on Tuesday, while Marlington hosts Minerva next Friday.

HANOVERTON — United raced out to a 35-16 halftime lead and held on to beat East Palestine, 61-56, in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play Friday.
The Eagles improve to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the EOAC, while the Bulldog drops to 0-2 overall and in league play.
Jason Pratt scored 12 of his game-high 21 points in the second quarter for the Eagles, who outscored the Bulldogs 23-8 in the period.
Abram Ceresna added 13 points, Lance Rycraft nine and Matthew Hoopes eight.
East Palestine used a 25-11 fourth-quarter run to close the final margin to five points.
Clark Rutledge topped the Bulldogs with 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Drew Bycroft added 11 points, two assists and two steals and RJ May nine points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals. Kealin Simon contributed eight points and two assists.
United also won the junior varsity game, 50-32. Ryan Miller scored 15 points for the Eagles. Kealin Simon had nine points for the Bulldogs.
Both teams are scheduled to play today with United at Jackson-Milton and East Palestine hosting Lowellville.
