Branch knocks off Salem
SALEM — Jeremiah Thomas had 26 points with 18 coming in the second half as West Branch struck down rival Salem 50-20 on Tuesday.
Gavin Gregory added eight rebounds for West Branch (6-5, 5-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference). Kasen Weaver had eight points, four rebounds and three assists.
Deontay Steele sparked Salem (2-8, 0-5 in the EBC) with 12 points.
West Branch won the jayvee game, 58-29. Mason Cosma had 14 points for the Warriors.
West Branch hosts Minerva on Friday. Alliance is at Salem Friday.

BROOKFIELD — Brookfield broke open a close game with a 26-4 third-quarter run that gave the Warriors a 78-46 win over Crestview on Tuesday.
The Warriors improve to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Gray Tier, while the Rebels suffered their fourth loss in five games to fall to 5-8 and 2-5 in league play.
Crestview led 15-8 with 1:30 to play in the first quarter, but was outscored 70-31 the rest of the way.
Brookfield tied the score at 15-15 at the end of the first quarter. The game was still tied 26-26 with 3 1/2 minutes to play in the second quarter before Brookfield claimed a 32-30 halftime lead.
It was all Brookfield after that as the Warriors opened the second half with a 16-0 run that gave them a 50-32 lead with 3:40 left in the third quarter. Crestview was held scoreless for the opening 4 1/2 minutes of the second half.
Dylan Stoffer had 15 points and five rebounds for the Rebels. Grant Gerner added 12 points. Caleb Gaydos chipped in eight points and four rebounds.
Both teams play Friday with Crestview hosting Newton Falls and Brookfield entertaining LaBrae.
Crestview’s jayvees were 40-19 winners. Brady Barnhart had 13 points for the Rebels.

Valley 59, Leetonia 31
LEETONIA — Valley Christian outscored Leetonia 38-14 in the second half for a 59-31 win in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play Tuesday.
The Eagles improve to 6-4 overall and 6-2 in the EOAC, one game behind Columbiana and Lisbon. The Bears drop to 3-10 and 2-6 in league play.
Valley also won the two-quarter junior varsity game, 29-13. Aiden Hunter led Leetonia with five points.
Both teams return to league play Friday with Leetonia at Columbiana and Valley hosting Southern.

SALINEVILLE — AJ Ramgeet scored 26 points and younger brother Aidan Ramgeet had 19 in leading Lisbon past Southern, 80-39, Tuesday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.
AJ Ramgeet also had nine rebounds, six assists and four steals. Mason Jones added 12 points and Blaine Barnes 11 points. Ashton Hinchliffe and Aiden Myers grabbed seven rebounds apiece.
Lisbon improves to 9-3 overall and 7-1 in the EOAC, tied with Columbiana for the league lead. Southern drops to 1-11 and 0-8 in league play.
The Blue Devils led 26-7 in the first quarter and 46-20 by halftime.
Landen Heffner topped the Indians with 13 points. Jacob McCurdy and Aiden Davis each had nine points.
Lisbon also won the junior varsity game, 28-14, as Mason Jones scored 12 points. Kim Charid Galman had eight points for Southern.
Both team return to league play Friday with Lisbon hosting Wellsville and Southern visiting Valley.
