Crestview’s new scoring queen

GIRARD — Crestview Local senior Addison Rhodes has done it all for the Rebels in her career and now she’s the school’s all-time leading scorer after a 43-point day against Girard in a 72-65 win on Saturday night.

Rhodes now has 2,013 career points which surpassed Chelsea Bowker’s mark of 2,012 set in 2009. Bowker went on to play college ball at NCAA Div. I St. Bonaventure. Rhodes will do the same at Fairfield University in Connecticut in the fall.

The next target on Rhodes’ list will be the Columbiana County mark of 2,032 career points set by Southern’s Ashley Shroades in 2024.

Rhodes has scored 345 points in 11 games this season.

Also contributing for the Rebels was Brianna Baker with 10 points, eight steals and seven assists and Ava Bucey with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Crestview is 10-1 and will be at Liberty today.

Crestview won the jayvee game, 27-6. Lainey Milhoan had 11 points and Makenna Ray added nine points for the Rebels.

SALEM — Salem’s girls basketball team upped its record to 8-3 with a 44-32 win over Woodridge on Saturday.

Abby Knickerbocker led the Quakers with 26 points, while Maddy Andres had nine points. Karlie Sampson added seven assists, while Garyn Rohm had seven rebounds.

Salem will play at Chaney today.

HANOVERTON — Maelee Smith had 25 points, 12 rebounds and six steals to help United to a 56-34 win over Beaver Local on Saturday.

Reagan Good added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles, 7-5. Marion Stryffeler had nine points, four rebounds and three steals. Bella Thompson had four points, 10 assists and six steals.

Ally Wright had 11 points for the Beavers, 4-8.

United is at Southern on Monday.

Beaver Local is at Buckeye Local on Monday.

BELOIT — West Branch’s girls basketball team won two out of three non-league games on its Christmas break from the Eastern Buckeye Conference culminating in a 55-37 win over Austintown Fitch on Saturday.

West Branch is 9-1 on the season and will host rival Salem on Wednesday in a key EBC tilt.

Madi Hoopes led the Warriors with 17 points, her 10th straight game with double digit scoring. Tallie Muniz added 11 points, while Audrey Eaton had 10 points. Sammi Beatty chipped in eight points.

Heartland 48, Madonna 31

COLUMBIANA — Heartland Christian’s girls basketball team bounced Madonna 48-31 on Saturday.

Sarah Reynolds paced the winners with 18 points.

Heartland is 4-6 and will host Leetonia on Wednesday.

GREENFORD — Columbiana’s girls basketball team held on for a 40-35 win on Saturday night against South Range.

The Clippers led 15-2 after the first quarter and had to withstand a second-half charge from the Raiders.

Evy Rapp led the Clippers with 16 points, while Megan Moser added eight points.

Columbiana is 10-2 and will host Wellsville today.

South Range fell to 5-4.

Southington 50, Lisbon 35

SOUTHINGTON — Lisbon’s girls basketball team suffered a 50-35 loss to Southington on Saturday.

Sofia Brown had nine points and nine rebounds for Lisbon. Lylah Brown added eight points.

Lisbon is 6-6 and is at Valley Christian today.
