Alliance rallies past Salem

Alliance 4, Salem 3

ALLIANCE — Lilly White’s RBI single in the sixth inning and RBI double in the seventh inning rallied Alliance past Salem, 4-3, Thursday.

White went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Addison Presutti and Tasia Hendershot each had two hits.

Alaina Minear got the victory, giving up two earned runs in seven innings. She struck out six and walked two.

Alliance improves to 7-8 overall and 3-3 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. Salem drops to 2-6 and 1-4 in the EBC.

Aniya Jones doubled and singled for the Quakers. Shae Burkhart and Lacie Gainor each had two hits.

Morgane Blaine took the loss, giving up three earned runs. She struck out seven and walked one.

Salem will play at Marlington today.

Minerva 3, West Branch 2

MINERVA — Minerva had only four hits, but made them count Thursday.

Adrianna Kashdan doubled, singled and scored two runs and Maddie Crawford drove in two runs in the Lions’ 3-2 win over West Branch.

Kylie Hannen went the distance for the victory, striking three and walking one.

West Branch drops to 6-7 overall and 4-2 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference, trailing only 4-1 Marlington.

Minerva improves to 6-9 and 2-4 in the EBC.

Ellie Tucker topped West Branch with a double and a single. Zoey Carreon also had a double.

Tucker took the loss, striking out eight and walking one.

West Branch will host Lakeview on today.

Maplewood 6, United 0

HANOVERTON — Sophomore Addison Marker held United to five hits as Maplewood won its 11th in a row in a 6-0 victory Thursday.

Marker struck out 14 and walked three over seven innings.

Claire Urchek had two singles and scored two runs.

Maplewood improves to 11-1, while United lost its third in a row to fall to 11-5. The Eagles have scored four runs in their last three games.

Caitlyn Roller topped United with two hits. Callie Koons hit a triple.

Madison Aegerter went the distance in the loss, giving up four earned runs with two strikeouts and three walks.

United will host Wellsville on Monday.

Beaver 17, Crestview 4

COLUMBIANA — Beaver Local sophomore Brylee Curtis is on a power surge.

Curtis hit two more home runs — giving her seven in the last three days and nine on the season — and drove in five runs as the Beavers beat Crestview, 17-4, in five innings Thursday.

Curtis hit two-run homers in the first and third innings and finished 3-for-3 with four runs scored.

Addie Thurik went 4-for-4 with a triple and a double and scored four runs. Macie Bourne was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Ciara Call tripled, singled and drove in three runs. Carlee Crabtree doubled, singled and scored three runs. Ally Wright added two hits, including a double. Gianna Congrove and Ally Wright each had two hits.

Call was the winning pitcher, striking out 10 and walking one.

Gia Depace topped the Rebels by going 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Alivia Shetler hit a triple.

Beaver Local (16-3) will play at Bellaire on Saturday.

Crestview (8-6) will host Garfield on Monday.

LOUISVILLE — AyraBella Bacorn went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, five RBIs and three runs in leading Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas past Leetonia, 16-6, in six innings Thursday.

Eleana Faulkner went 3-for-3 with a home run and a double and two RBIs. She was the winning pitcher, giving up five earned runs with five strikeouts and one walk.

The Knights improve to 10-5.

Carli Simms hit a home run for Leetonia. Emily West had two doubles and two RBIs. Madison Huston, Aubrey Knight and Addi Gray each had two hits.

Leetonia (0-15) will host Sebring today.
