Clippers clicking vs. Tigers

WELLSVILLE — Avery Young had five hits including two doubles and four RBIs as Columbiana rolled to a 26-4 win over Wellsville on Wednesday.

Sam Inboden added a single, home run and three RBIs for Columbiana. Ethan Lehnerd had a single, triple and three RBIs. Drennen Bosela had a double and three RBIs.

Leonard was the winning pitcher as he struck out four and walked two over two innings.

Colin Kessler had two hits and two RBIs for Tigers.

Austin Watkins was the losing pitcher as he walked three and struck out one in four innings. The Tigers made 13 errors.

Columbiana is 5-5 overall and 3-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

Wellsville is 0-7 and 0-3 in the league.

Columbiana is scheduled to play Crestview on Friday at Eastwood Field in Niles.

Wellsville hosts Steubenville Central on Saturday.

HANOVERTON — Wyatt Swanson had two hits and an RBI, while Carter Simmons had a double in a 14-4 United win over Southern Local on Wednesday.

Nick Lutes had 11 strikeouts and four walks in five innings for the Eagles.

Landen Hefner had the lone hit for the Indians.

Jack Pitts took the loss with six walks, no strikeouts and three earned runs for the Indians.

United is 7-2 overall and 6-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

United will host Lisbon on Friday.

Southern falls to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the EOAC.

The Indians are at Bridgeport on Saturday.

RAVENNA — Crestview’s baseball team suffered a 3-0 loss to Southeast in five innings on Wednesday.

Logan Neff took the loss with two walks and a strikeout in two innings.

The game got to the bottom of the sixth but heavy rains moved into the area and the game was called complete with the score after five innings.

Crestview is 5-3 and is set to play Columbiana on Friday at Eastwood Field.

West Branch 1

ALLIANCE — Marlington swept the season series from West Branch with a 3-1 win on Wednesday.

Grayden Grimm had a double and single for the Warriors. Evan Springer took the loss with four strikeouts and two walks in five innings.

The game was stopped in the middle of the fifth as storms moved in.

West Branch fell to 4-4 and 1-3 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

The Warriors are scheduled to play Cardinal Mooney at 7 p.m. on Friday at Cene Park.

UNITY — Bryce Esarey, Devin Kelly, Marc Moore, Ashton Hinchliffe and Mason Jones had two hits each as Lisbon downed East Palestine 19-4 in six innings on Wednesday.

Jones was the winning pitcher with eight strikeouts and a walk over four innings.

Kealin Simon had two hits and an RBI for the Bulldogs. Luke Kinkead had a double.

Brad Bartels was the losing pitcher with two walks, a strikeout and four earned runs in 3 2/3 innings.

Lisbon is 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

East Palestine is 2-5 overall and 1-4 in the EOAC.

Lisbon will host Heartland today.

East Palestine is at Liberty today.

SALEM — Braydon Wood struck out eight, walked two and limited Salem to three singles in a 9-0 Minerva win on Wednesday.

Bairon Exline, Braydon Van Dyne and Jaxson Douglas had hits for the Quakers.

Exline was the losing pitcher with four walks, four strikeouts and three earned runs over four innings.

Salem is 1-8 and 0-4 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. The Quakers have lost seven straight.

Salem will host Girard on Friday.
