Clippers sneak by Devils

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana’s first game of the season was worth waiting for.

Freshman pitcher Ella Eisenbraun made her debut, striking out 14 in a 3-2 win over Lisbon at Firestone Park on a windy Tuesday. She had strikeouts for Lisbon’s first eight outs. Eisenbraun gave up a pair of unearned runs, two singles to Lisbon leadoff batter Delaney Pickens and one walk on a 102 pitches in seven innings.

Reagan Bell and Brooke McKim each had two hits and an RBI for the Clippers. Josie Hepler doubled, while Natalie Barrow, Landry Smith and Alexis Sperling each had a single and scored a run.

The Clippers scored all three of their runs in the second inning. Barrow, Smith and Sperling started the inning with singles for a 1-0 lead. After a double steal, McKim singled on a bunt, driving in Smith for a 2-0 lead. With two outs, Bell singled to left field, driving in Sperling for the third run.

Pickens and Aria Reckner scored runs for Lisbon (2-3). Abby Ammon and Emelia Cook drove in runs.

Kamryn Peruchetti took the loss, striking out two with no walks in six innings.

Both teams will play today with Lisbon at Wellsville and Columbiana at Struthers.

Crestview 7, Brookfield 5

BROOKFIELD–Rylee Cloutier and Makayla McKee had two hits each to help Crestview to a 7-5 come-from-behind win over Brookfield on Tuesday.

Gia Depace, Kerrigan Miller and McKenzie Paskevitch had doubles for the Rebels.

McKee was the winning pitcher with 11 strikeouts and a walk over seven innings.

Crestview (4-1) is at Liberty on Monday.

United 19, Malvern 3

MALVERN — Madison Aegerter homered, singled and had three RBIs to lead United to a 19-3 win over Malvern on Tuesday.

Callie Koons added a double, two singles and four RBIs. Chloe Angelo and Josie Wargo had doubles. Payten Kekel and Miley Pitts had two hits each.

Kekel also got the win with 11 strikeouts and two walks over seven innings.

United is 2-2 and will host East Palestine today.

Campbell 11, Leetonia 4

LEETONIA — Campbell scored nine runs in the first inning to run away with an 11-4 win over Leetonia on Tuesday.

Payton Gray had two triples and two RBIs for the Bears.

Carli Simms added two hits.

Laniya Dubose took the loss with six strikeouts and five walks over six innings.

Leetonia (0-4) will be at Southern today.
