LISBON — Lisbon’s baseball team solved Heartland Christian with a 9-1 win on Monday.

Ashton Hinchliffe had two hits and an RBI for the Blue Devils, while Logan Sturgeon had two hits and two RBIs. Aiden Myers had a double and three RBIs, while Mason Jones had a double and two RBIs.

Brady Carpenter got the win with 10 strikeouts and two walks in five innings.

Jack Morgan and Jacob Goehring had doubles for Heartland.

Christian Hamilton was the losing pitcher with three walks and a strikeout in 2 2/3 innings.

Lisbon (14-10) hosts Dalton in a tournament game on Friday.

BELOIT — West Branch strung together 16 hits in a 15-2 win over Columbiana on Monday in regular season play.

Grayden Grimm had three hits and an RBI for West Branch, 10-13. Grady Close added two triples and two RBIs. Drake Stryffeler had a single, double and three RBIs. Gavyn Webb had a triple, single and three RBIs.

Carter Thrasher was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts and a walk in three innings.

Avery Young had a double for Columbiana, 9-15.

Jackson Davis was the losing pitcher as he had six earned runs, three walks and a strikeout in 2 2/3 innings.
