UNITY — No. 13 seed Bristol rallied for five runs in the seventh to force extras and scored two in the eighth to dump No. 9 Heartland 8-6 on Wednesday in a Div. VII district semifinal.

Heartland led 6-1 going into the seventh and could not get out of trouble.

In the eighth, an RBI double by Jonas Miller and a Kaden Garcia RBI single allowed the Panthers to take a two run lead. Heartland went down in order in the bottom of the eighth.

For Heartland (11-15), Jack Morgan had a double, triple and three RBIs. Hudson Miller added two hits, while Paul Bender had two hits. Brennan Murray had a double.

Evan Farrell took the loss with no walks and no strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.

Bristol will meet No. 11 seed Medina Christian at 5 p.m. on Friday in the district final at Springfield Local High School.

MCDONALD 13, LEETONIA 0

MCDONALD — Top-seeded McDonald had no trouble taking care of Leetonia with a 13-0 win in five innings on Wednesday in a Div. VII district semifinal.

Leetonia fell to 7-13.

Samuel Falk had the Bears’ lone hit. Jason King was the losing pitcher with six walks and four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.

McDonald advances to the district final to take on No. 6 seed Kidron Central Christian at 5 p.m. on Friday at Massillon Washington High School.

LABRAE 11, LISBON 1

LEAVITTSBURG — Sixth-seeded LaBrae ended Lisbon’s season with an 11-1 win in five innings on Wednesday in a Div. VI district semifinal.

Lisbon, the 10th seed, fell to 17-9.

Ashton Hinchliffe led the Blue Devils with two hits. Mason Jones was the losing pitcher with three walks, three earned runs and three strikeouts over three innings.

LaBrae’s Landon Brunstetter had four strikeouts and no walks in 3 1/3 innings. Austin Rowe had three hits to lead the Viking offense.

LaBrae will take on No. 13 Springfield at 2 p.m. on Friday at Cuyahoga Community College in Parma.
