AUSTINTOWN — The Salem girls and boys track teams found a new home at Austintown Fitch High School.

The Quakers swept the Division III district track and field team titles going away at Falcon Stadium.

Salem won the girls team title for the fifth straight year, while the boys claimed their first district team title since 2022.

The Salem girls won the last three races to beat Streetsboro, 162-135.

The Salem boys scored 120 points, followed by Streetsboro with 107.

Freshman Chaya Murray, junior Abby Knickerbocker and senior Laura Hovorka each were double winners for the Salem girls on Saturday.

Murray helped set a pair of school records. She won the 200-meter dash, breaking her own school record in 24.82 seconds, and joined Angie Hoffaker, Karlie Sampson and Knickerbocker on the second-place 400 relay team that ran a school-record 50.79.

Knickerbocker also won the 400 dash (60.52) and Hovorka the 800 run (2:25.23).

Senior Karlie Sampson joined the threesome on the winning 1600 relay (4:15.39).

The top four in each event return to Austintown Fitch for the regional meet on Thursday and Saturday.

Salem senior Lucas Adams won the high jump (6-2) on Saturday to go along with the district long jump title in the long jump on Thursday.

Salem senior Cooper Barth added a win in the 1600 run (4:37.18).

The Salem boys were second in the three relays on Saturday after winning the 3200 relay on Thursday.
