Rebels spike Liberty

COLUMBIANA -- Crestview’s volleyball team made short work of Liberty with a 25-18, 25-9, 25-7 win on Thursday.

Crestview is 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the MVAC Gray Division.

For the Rebels, Sophia Noling had 13 kills and two aces. Bella Ciapala had nine kills. Kerrigan Miller had three aces and 12 digs. Addison Finch chipped in eight assists and seven aces. Addison Wendell had 13 assists. Cam Davidson had two kills and 10 assists.

The Rebels are at Southeast on Sept. 3.

Crestview won the jayvee portion 25-11, 25-6. Tori Griffith had three kills. Haley Boano added five aces, eight points and four digs.

UNITED 3, HEARTLAND 0

COLUMBIANA -- United’s volleyball team solved Heartland 25-23, 25-13, 25-15 on Thursday.

Rileah Phillips had seven aces and 17 assists for the Eagles. Baylee Smith added 17 digs and 10 points.

United is 2-1.

United won the jayvee match 25-16, 25-2. Gwyndalen Haynes had 21 points and 12 aces. Gracelyn Simmons had six points and four aces.

COLUMBIANA 3, LISBON 0

LISBON -- Columbiana remained unbeaten with a 25-18, 25-19, 25-19 sweep of Lisbon Thursday.

The Clippers improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

Landry Smith led Columbiana with 15 kills, three blocks, two aces, 16 points, eight assists and four digs. Addisyn Dangler added 12 kills, two blocks, an ace and three points, while Keagan Pruitt had six kills, an ace, 11 points and 15 digs. Eva Waller finished with 39 assists, two kills, an ace, seven points and six digs. Hailee Gomoll had an ace, 11 points and five digs, and Kaydence Hammer added five kills.

For Lisbon, Alayna Householder and Addison Anderson had six kills each. Gionna Lenigar had five kills. Bridget Newbold chipped in 17 assists.

The Clipper junior varsity also improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in league play with a 25-15, 25-20 win. Sydney Schorejs had 10 kills, an ace, five points and two digs. Annabelle Church added six kills, three aces, four points, four assists and 10 digs, while Adelaide Garrett had two kills, four aces, 14 points, 11 assists and seven digs. Sylvia Rapp contributed four kills, three points and four digs.

Gracyn Owens, Kyler Moore and Kylyn Boyd had four kills each for Lisbon. Ella Cochran had 11 assists. Johanna Ford had 10 digs.

Columbiana will play at Mooney on Saturday.

Lisbon hosts Valley Christian on Tuesday.

EAST PALESTINE 3, VALLEY 0

YOUNGSTOWN -- East Palestine’s volleyball team scored a 25-13, 25-15, 25-15 win over Valley Christian on Thursday.

Kennedy Andre led the Bulldogs with 16 points, nine aces, 12 assists and six digs. Marley Blythe added 16 points, three aces and three digs, Destiney Burtyk had nine kills and Jacklyn Ogle 10 points, six aces and six digs. Madilyn Zimmerman added seven digs.

East Palestine moved to 4-1. The Bulldogs host Western Reserve on Saturday, followed by Warren JFK.

The Bulldog junior varsity won 15-8, 15-10. Aubrey Oltmann had 21 points, 16 aces and three kills, Delaney Demster added eight points and four aces, and Aliviana Valingo had seven kills.
