Urban Meyer coming to county to share Holtz stories

EAST LIVERPOOL -- Urban Meyer and Skip Holtz will headline a tribute to Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz on Aug. 20 at the Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center at the Lou Holtz Hall of Fame.
Meyer and Skip Holtz are planning to share personal memories and reflect on the life, leadership and lasting influence of Coach Lou Holtz.
A meet and greet will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. where guests will have the chance to meet the coaches and take photos. Meet and greet tickets (including admission for the tribute) are $100 and only 50 will be sold.
At 7 p.m. the coaches will take the stage for a special tribute to Lou Holtz. During the program, the two coaches will share stories, lessons and reflections on Lou Holtz's extraordinary impact on the game of football, leadership, family and countless lives. Admission to the speaking event is $25 per person.
Lou Holtz, who died at 89 on March 4 in Florida, was the last college head coach to hire Meyer as a position coach in 1996 when Meyer was named the Notre Dame receivers coach.
Skip Holtz, 62, coached under his father as a Notre Dame receivers coach in 1990 and 91 and as an offensive coordinator from 1992-93. After a stint as Connecticut’s head coach, Skip Holtz also served as an assistant for his father from 1999-2004 at South Carolina.

Tickets are available at the Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center at the Lou Holtz Hall of Fame from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
