SALEM -- In a battle of Quakers, the Salem and New Philadelphia boys soccer teams played to a 0-0 tie Saturday after being called because of weather with 38 minutes left in the second half.
Salem (3-3-1) will host Minerva at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
UNITED 3, BADGER 1
KINSMAN -- United scored three goals in first half and downed Badger, 3-1, in boys soccer action Saturday.
United improves to 4-2-1 and will host Columbiana today. Badger drops to 4-2-1.
JFK 2, COLUMBIANA 1
COLUMBIANA -- The Columbiana boys soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 2-1 to Warren JFK on Saturday.
The Clippers -- who have given up five goals -- are 6-1 and will play at United today.
CRESTVIEW 11, HEARTLAND 0
NORTH LIMA -- The Crestview boys soccer team won its fifth straight match, beating Heartland Christian 11-0 on Saturday.
The Rebels scored seven goals in the first half. They have won their last five matches by a combined 47-0.
Crestview improves to 9-1, while Heartland drops to 1-7.
WEST BRANCH 1, AVONWORTH 0
PITTSBURGH -- Audrey Eaton made 10 saves in goal for the sixth shutout of the season as the West Branch girls soccer team galloped past the Avonworth (Pa.) Antelopes, 1-0, on Saturday.
Alinee Bacconi scored the lone goal.
West Branch improves to 8-0 and has outscored its opponents 41-2.
The Warriors will host Marlington on Wednesday.
In the junior varsity match, Avonworth won 2-0. Addi Dudley made five saves in goal for West Branch.
UNITED 2, MOONEY 2
YOUNGSTOWN -- The United and Youngstown Mooney girls soccer teams tied 2-2 Saturday.
Scoring goals for the Eagles were Bella Thompson and Elli Powers. Addy Wright had an assist.
Cheyenne Chuck made four saves in goal for the Eagles, who are 7-0-1.
COLUMBIANA 3, STEUBENVILLE CENTRAL 2
STEUBENVILLE -- The Columbiana girls soccer team edged Steubenville Central, 3-2, Saturday.
The Clippers improve to 4-1-1, while the Crusaders drop to 3-5-1.
Columbiana will host United today.
