EAST PALESTINE -- Columbiana remained unbeaten with a 25-12, 25-23, 25-12 sweep of East Palestine on Tuesday.
The Clippers are 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference, one game ahead of United.
Ava Marks totaled 13 points, three aces, six kills and nine digs for the Clippers. Addisyn Dangler had 11 points and nine kills, Hailee Gomoll 11 points and eight digs, Keagn Pruitt seven points, nine kills and five digs, Landry Smith five points and six kills and Eva Waller three points, 28 assists and six digs.
East Palestine moves to 8-4 and 4-2 in league play.
Topping the Bulldogs were Marley Blythe six kills and 11 digs, Kennedy Andre 15 assists and six digs, Destiney Burtyk five kills and seven digs, Cadence Vargo 11 digs and Emma Gingher seven points with four aces
Columbiana also won the junior varsity match, 25-10, 25-10, as Briley Schmidt had 12 points and eight assists. Adelaide Garrett had five points, four aces, four assists and six digs; Sylvia Rapp four points, four kills and seven digs; Annabelle Church three points and six kills; and Keegan Reynolds nine digs.
For the East Palestine, Delaney Demster had four points and 14 digs, Aliviana Valingo five kills and Aubrey Oltmann three kills and three digs.
Both teams play Thursday as Columbiana hosts Southern and East Palestine visit Lisbon.
UNITED 3, LISBON 0
HANOVERTON -- United stayed within striking range in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball race Tuesday.
The Eagles spiked Lisbon, 25-23, 25-19, 25-19, to improve to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the EOAC, one game behind Columbiana. United will play at at Valley Christian on Thursday.
Chloe Angelo had six kills and two blocks and Maelee Smith five kills and four blocks to lead the Eagles. Scarlett Courtney had seven service points with two aces.
Leaders for Lisbon were Gionna Lenigar with seven kills and two blocks, Addison Anderson six kills and six digs, Alayna Householder four kills and five digs, Hannah Davis 12 digs, Ariel Dickey eight digs and two aces, Lexi Roush seven digs and Bridget Newbold 20 assists.
Lisbon drops to 3-8 and 1-5in the EOAC. The Blue Devils host East Palestine on Thursday.
United also won the junior varsity match, 25-21, 25-18.
For the Eagles, Ella Humphrey had six kills and six digs, Swyndalen Hayes six points, three aces and 12 digs and Cora Baker five points, three aces, 11 assists and two kills.
For the Blue Devils, Gracyn Owens had five kills and three aces and Kylyn Boyd made five.
HEARTLAND 3, SOUTHERN 2
SALINEVILLE -- Heartland Christian rallied to win the last two games and beat Southern, 27-29, 25-17, 17-25, 25-22, 15-6, Tuesday.
The Indians (4-7) will play at unbeaten Columbiana on Thursday.
Addi Martin had 15 points and 10 digs, Katie Kellogg 11 points and 10 kills and Kalayah Crute 10 points, eight kills and two blocks for the Indians. Kiah Sloan had 14 kills, Eliana Forbes 15 assists, Delaney Beadnell 16 points and Raelea Carosiello two kills.
Southern won the junior varsity match, 25-16, 25-7, as Mary Beadnell had nine points with four aces and Addison Andrenok five points and eight assists.
CRESTVIEW 3, CHAMPION 1
CHAMPION -- Belal Ciapala had 13 kills and Sophia Noling 12 kills in leading Crestview past Champion, 25-20, 20-25, 25-11, 25-12, Tuesday.
Kerrigan Miller totaled five aces and 24 digs, Addison Wendell 20 assists, Sarah Hively six kills and three blocks, Phiatra Bradley five kills and Madi Keyser 12 digs.
Crestview also won the junior varsity match, 25-20, 25-15. Makenna Ray had six kills, five aces and five digs and Claire Crable 17 assists and two aces for the Rebels.
Crestview will host Youngstown Mooney today.
