ELCC CLOSING
EAST LIVERPOOL -- The East Liverpool Country Club will be closing its doors after 106 years.
“Due to rising costs of utilities, insurance, food, golf course chemicals and a decreasing membership, we are forced to close our doors on Sept. 15,” according to a release from statutory agent Dave Moadus.
He said the golf course was designed and built by Willie Park Jr. in 1920. He designed the course with small, elevated lighting fast greens, making it one of the area’s hardest tests of golf.
