Salem’s Hopple strides to 3200 victory at GlenOak

CANTON — Addison Hopple raced to a win in the 3200-meter run to lead Salem’s girls track team on Saturday at the Canton GlenOak Second Sole Eagle Elite meet. Hopple finished in 11:42.94. Peyton Colbert earned a second-place finish in the high jump as she cleared 5 feet. Chaya Murray also turned in a strong time in the 100 as she was third in 12.85. Nastari, Plant race in Virginia CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia — The top two half-milers in Ohio high school history met up at the Virginia Challenge on Friday night. The two former state champions — Penn State junior Kaleb Nastari from United and Virginia Tech senior Nick Plant from Canfield — raced to high finishes at the Virginia Challenge. Scholarships available SALEM — The Salem Hunting Club has set the application deadline for the Lowell Iden and Larry Iler Memorial Scholarship to June 1. The scholarships honor the memory of past Salem Hunting Club presidents Iden and Iler. Students currently in college or soon to be going to college are eligible.
