Herberts to celebrate 60 years of marriage
David and Ruth Herbert are celebrating their 60th anniversary Friday.
The former Ruth Jean Sanor, daughter of Glenwood R. and Muriel Sanor of Beloit, married David Nolan Herbert, son of Andy and Wilma Herbert of Salem, at the Westville Congregational Church July 24, 1960.
David started working at Sekely Industries out of high school in 1956 as an apprentice diemaker, working there through college, graduating in 1961 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Sekely’s until his retirement as plant manager, a total of 50 years.
Ruth remained a house wife and stay at home mother.
The couple has two children, Andy (Deanna) Herbert of South Carolina and Steve Herbert of North Benton, as well as four grandchildren residing in South Carolina and North Benton.
