Mahoning County Republicans reelect McCabe as chairman

BOARDMAN — The Mahoning County Republican Party reelected Tom McCabe as its executive committee chairman and returned him to head the central committee after a yearlong experiment to split the two positions. The committee unanimously elected McCabe as chairman of both committees at a Thursday night meeting. PERRY TOWNSHIP — The Perry Township trustees will meet in a special session Thursday morning. The trustees will meet at 8 a.m. at the administration building at 2198 N. Lisbon Fireworks Committee updates council on July 2 festivities

LISBON — Judy Noel of the Lisbon Fireworks Committee updated village council on the upcoming festivities set for July 2 at the Columbiana County Fairgrounds, stressing it’s a free event. “We expect a very large crowd,” she said. Noel made a request for the Lisbon Police Department to provide security for the event, with Police Chief Mike Abraham asking her to stop in his office to talk about it. Firestone Park Summer Concert Series underway

COLUMBIANA — The annual Summer Concert Series in Firestone Park is underway and the lineup features several familiar crowd pleasers and one new musical guest. Each concert is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. at the gazebo on certain Sundays in June, July and August. The live musical entertainment is free to the public thanks to sponsorships from area groups and businesses and the Columbiana Community Foundation.
