Career center to extend school day by 5 minutes

LISBON — Extending the Columbia County Career and Technical Center’s instructional day by five minutes is expected to bring in more state funding each year. The career center governing board recently approved the five minutes per day increase, resulting in a new start time of 7:45 a.m. for the 2026-27 school year. Alleged driver in East Liverpool shooting pleads guilty to amended charges

LISBON —The man identified as the alleged driver involved in the 2021 murder of Brycen Douglas in East Liverpool admitted his guilt on Monday to amended charges of involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence, along with a charge of obstructing justice. As part of the plea agreement, Travis W. Kidder, 26, Bradshaw Avenue, East Liverpool,  won’t face a charge of aggravated murder or complicity in the commission of an offense, with both charges to be dismissed.
