Salem Historical Society annual picnic to include Pegasus Farm program

SALEM — The Aug. 12 Annual Picnic membership meeting and program of the Salem Historical Society will be hosted at Pavilion 2 at Centennial Park at 6 p.m. Guests are asked to bring a covered dish to share and their own place setting. Hotdogs, buns, condiments, and beverages will be provided. Nonmembers of the society are welcome to attend. Following a short business meeting, the program, “Pegasus Farm,” will be presented by Larry Halm, Advancement Specialist, Pegasus Farm.
The mission of Pegasus Farm is to create a community that holistically supports and empowers people with diverse needs through therapeutic equestrian programs, vocational services, and recreational and social activities. This lecture will provide the history, mission and programs of Pegasus Farm.
Halm currently serves as Advancement Specialist for Pegasus Farm, an organization dedicated to providing therapeutic equine services, vocational opportunities, and other supportive services to individuals with special needs. In his role at Pegasus Farm, Halm is involved in marketing, fundraising, and administrative duties. He has been with the organization since May 2023. He has over 25 years of experience in healthcare, specifically in fundraising, marketing, and community relations for hospitals. He was born and raised in Salem, and currently lives in Alliance with his wife, Lisa. Larry is a graduate of West Branch High School, Ohio University, and Youngstown State University.
