COLUMBIANA — A new board is in place for the 2026 year at the Historical Society of Columbiana and Fairfield Township. Returning for a second term is Vaughn Musser and Richard Scullin; Bob Belding is the third trustee serving a first term.

All officers are returning for the coming year: President Deborah Firestone-Himes, Vice President Mary Louise Dicken, Secretary Monica Detwiler, Treasurer Richard Scullin and Assistant Treasurer Gayle Rugh. Kimberly Bland, Maria Green, Ken Krisa, Dan Malanowski and Denise Niemi round out the board.

General meetings are held quarterly and the public is encouraged to attend. The next meeting is April 20 at 7 p.m. in the 1st Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.

The log house museum will open for the season, Friday, June 5 with updated displays and introducing a new display. The Log House is open 2 to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday afternoons to the public. The museum is free to visit. The museum is staffed by volunteers and operates solely on donations and membership fees.
